How Wundershirt is Made
The Raw Materials
The process starts with the raw materials that go into the nanofabric. Pictured on the left is a close up of the fabric. Here you can see the actively responsive materials up close.
Processing
A powder is made from ground up materials. These materials are then combined with liquid PET to make a master batch. Once the master batch is made, a stable fiber is extruded.
Making of the Yarn
The fiber is rolled onto spools and is ready to be knit.
Knitting It All Together
Each of these fabrics are then knit together. The machine has cones of the polyester, spandex, and Synthetic Polymer Bi-Component Fiber. The fabric then goes through the machine and creates loops. Each loop has a different height and length. A loop's height is referred to as a wale, and a loop's length is referred to as a course. The three threads are knit together with the appropriate percentage to create the Wundershirt fabric.
